I Can’t Even
Again? We’re doing this Again? Not even a week Has passed And here we go, The same words, The same excuses. “Weaponization Of a vehicle,” (Later changed to Fleeing and fear For public safety) With one dead In Maine. And that’s not even Counting the man Beaten in Virginia And others killed In Tennessee. Blood in the streets, The residue of Government violence. I have no words, No words to describe My emotions. I can’t even tell you What I feel. I may be beyond feeling. Numb. I still care But my emotions Are swaddled by So many layers Of atrocities That those feelings Are undefinable. With each person They kill, Each person they Leave grieving, Each person They terrify, They destroy A little more Of me.
